Photo-realism Grid Project
Reflection Sheet
1. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
6-VA-CE-2.3 Create a drawing using various tints, shades, and intensities
This is our standard. This standard was based on how well we can shade. As you can see from the picture, I did try shading out. I added multiple shades from really dark to light. Also this standard was drawn on a grid for more accuracy from the picture.
2. What are the steps you took to compete and do well on this assignment?
First, I made my gird. Then, I picked this picture from the stack of pictures available. Next, I made the outline for the picture. Finally, I added shading to make it look better than it looked before shading.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
This assignment demonstrates that I know my values. This means that I know dark from light. This also demonstrates that I know how to shade. Finally, this demonstrates that I can make a complex picture using a grid.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
I could've improved my work on this assignment by making a better outline. My outline of the person wasn't as good because I assumed that the areas that looked like a mistake would look good after shading. Also, I could've worked faster because I never got a chance to use the really dark pencil.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can apply this skill outside of class. I can use this skill to understand how to draw better than before. Also, I now know how really accurate drawings of life are usually made. Finally, if I ever draw for fun, I know not to just draw on the paper if I'm making a portrait. I know to use grids to make it easier.
