Children's Book: Homesick
Reflection Sheet
1. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
2. What are the steps you took to compete and do well on this assignment?
I first made a rough draft of my children's book. I didn't really like how it turned out and ended up doing a whole new story. I gave it to our teacher and got it corrected. I made a final draft with my corrections and turned it in.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
This assignment demonstrates that I can make a story for children. This also demonstrates my imagination and my ability to think of stories. My children's book shows that I can make a story long enough to be a book. Also my children's book shows that I am capable of making my own pictures.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
I could have put more effort in my pictures. My pictures didn't turn out how I imagined it because I didn't spend enough time on it. I just drew the pictures I wanted and left it. I did this to make it look like a child drew it. I don't think I did a very good job on the illustrations even if it was meant to look like a child drew it.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
In the future, in high school or college, I will be asked to make long reports or stories. This assignment shows that I can do these long assignments and do it well. I can also use this in the future when I am very old. If I decide to make a book, doing this assignment will help me make that book.
