1. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
This assignment was assigned to us as a group project. This means that all 4 of your group members (including you) have to work as a team to make an environmental sculpture. This shows the 2nd standard above. Also all the material we needed weren't provided. We were the ones responsible for getting our materials instead and we needed to get materials that correspond with our theme which matches the 1st standard.
2. What are the steps you took to compete and do well on this assignment?
First of all, we had to decide what we were going to do. We had 3 options, a self-portrait, maze, or a jungle themed city. We chose the jungle themed city and we decided to make a flower in the middle of the city as the centerpiece. We then got a ton of bottles (provided by Caleb and David) that we glued onto the base we made and used them as buildings. Finally, John brought leaves that we taped onto the sides of our base to add the jungle theme.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
This assignment was completed by all 4 of us. This means that we completed the 2nd standard and the 2nd standard demonstrates that we have teamwork. Also, I contributed by making the flower on my own time and bringing it to school. This demonstrates that I can contribute to a team work and also can be relied on to bring things. Also we brought things that are related to the theme which means that we are able to pick and stick to a theme.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
We could have improved by bringing our stuff faster. I brought my things a day before I was suppose to and ended up losing my stuff. Then, John brought a small piece of cardboard and a small plastic bag. No one else brought their materials that day which lost us a whole day of building and ended up really effecting our project at the end.
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can apply these skills in other classes because we have a lot of team projects in school this year. I can apply these skills in these projects when I have to bring materials and contribute to our team project. Also I can bring materials that are related to the theme and help build our project.
