Balloon Pinata
Reflection Sheet
1. How does this assignment relate to the standard?
This assignment was another culture standard. We learned about the culture of the pinata and learned some of its history. We then made our own pinatas for the fun and for the visual proof to put on weebly. Sadly, I don't have a picture of my own pinata because it popped before I got the chance. The picture below is a picture of another pinata i found on the web.
2. What are the steps you took to compete and do well on this assignment?
First, we learned all about the cultural and religious importance of the pinata. Next, we made our own pinatas. We made the glue with water, flour, and salt. We used the paste to glue strips of paper we cut onto the pinata.
3. This assignment demonstrates the following strengths...
This assignment demonstrates that I know a lot about the history and culture of pinatas. This assignment also demonstrates my creativity. It demonstrates, even if you can't see my pinata, that I can use my creativity to create an awesome pinata.
4. I could have improved my work on this assignment by...
I could have improved my work by working faster. I didn't get to finish my pinata all the way because we didn't have enough time. I should have worked faster to finish it. now I only have half a popped pinata. (;_;)
5. How will you apply the skills you learned from this assignment in either the real world when you are an adult or in other classes while you are still a student?
I can apply these skills outside because it is a culture standard. This means that I know, next time I see a pinata, what the pinata represents. I also know that in recent times the cultural/religious importance isn't the reason why we use pinatas anymore. Now, we just do it for fun. Also I know how to make pinatas and the paste required to stick it together. Also, next time i see a pinata I can understand how hard it is to make the pinata by hand.
